The highlight of the trip. Trek through dense rainforest to spend a magical hour observing a habituated mountain gorilla family in their natural habitat.

After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters by 7:30 AM for registration and allocation to a gorilla family group. Guides provide a briefing before you start the trek. The hike can be strenuous (1-6 hours round-trip) through steep, muddy terrain. The hour spent with the gorillas is utterly transformative.

Staying put allows for a relaxed post-trek recovery and avoids another long transfer.

Depart Bwindi and journey north to the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park, well-known for its diverse wildlife and the scenic Kazinga Channel.

Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Check into your lodge and then head for the afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a 40km natural link between Lake George and Lake Edward. This is one of Africa's premier wildlife boat safaris, with huge concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants,
buffalo, and abundant birdlife along the banks.

An early start for a game drive on the Kasenyi Plains, prime hunting ground for lions and a great area to see large herds of Uganda kob (antelope). Spot elephants,

Afternoon Game Drive or Kyambura Gorge Experience
Option 1: Another game drive in a different sector like the Mweya area. Option 2 (highly recommended): A guided chimpanzee trekking experience in Kyambura Gorge, a deep, lush "underground forest" where you can track chimps and other primates. This is a unique ecosystem.

A long travel day eastwards, crossing the country to the adventure capital of East Africa, Jinja, situated at the source of the White Nile.

Depart Queen Elizabeth NP after an early breakfast. The drive takes you through Fort Portal, with views of the Rwenzoris, and then across the lush countryside of central Uganda to Jinja. It's a long journey focused on landscape and local life.

Arrive in Jinja in the late afternoon. Check into your hotel and head directly to the
Source of the Nile monument. Take a short boat ride to the actual point where the Nile exits Lake Victoria, a historically significant and serene spot, at sunset.
